The 17-year-old actor-singer said he is also looking forward to doing an offbeat portrayal in Cinco. “Sa Boystown kasi ‘yung mga character namin medyo pattern muna sa mga totoong personalities namin. Pero dito sa Cinco we will actually portray characters na hindi kami. It’s going out of our comfort zones.”

During the story conference for the film, it was revealed to Sam, AJ, and Robi that they will be required to strip down to their underwear. Sam admitted that he has mixed emotions about doing the said scene, but in the end, he placed his trust in director Frasco Mortiz (of Goin’ Bulilit and Banana Split). “I’m here to find outkung kaya ko nga. Right now siyempre parang iniisip mo pa lang kaya wala lang. But kapag gagawin na ‘yung eksena, let’s see kung kaya ko. Tingin ko naman kaya ko. I trust Direk Frasco. We grow as artistsdin kasi. I will do it not as Sam but as an actor portraying a role.”

SAMSTERS! :) Our blogspot is back! The newly elected Web Moderators will be the ones to update our online sites, including this blog. Last few weeks, we updated the members to know who the actives and in-actives are. We are now "Samsters Clique Clan v.8!" Hurray! :) And since we have a new version, we decided to have new set of officers as well.

June 12 to 13 - The members were given two (2) days to nominate those whom they think deserve to be in that position.

June 14 to 17 - The nominees were given at most, a week to campaign. There are four party lists, namely as WOAH GUYS, SAMSTERRIFIC, SAMDIGAN and SMILE. I noticed that all of them are good at convincing the other members so I can say that the election held was really tight! :D

June 19 to 20 - All of the SCCs were asked to vote 1 to 3 members for each position. (Thanks to Tricia Lacson for counting the votes.)

Proof that Sam Concepcion could make it in the biz on his own is the countless awards he has received over the years including titles such as ‘Hottest Teen Star’, ‘Favorite Male Singer’, ‘Celeb Cutie’ and many more. His fan base had also increased ever since he joined Star Magic’s roster of talents and has become more visible as a mainstay in ASAP. Between releasing his second album (I’ll Find Your Heart) and staging his first solo birthday concert at Music Museum, he was also chosen to sing the theme of Kung Fu Panda as well as World Vision’s Ambassador for Children, all in the span of one year.

After going solo for many years, he recently proved that he is also a great team player as he joined Giggerboys (which includes Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, AJ Perez, Arron Villaflor, Dino Imperial, and Chris Gutierrez), the newest all-male teen group who has made a lot of girls go crazy with their good looks, talent, and wit especially now that they top-bill the weekly teenserye entitled Your Song Presents Boystown. “It is my first time to actually work with them in a series and I can say that it’s an experience I’ll always remember. I really enjoy working with them kasi we learn from each other. Close na rin kami sa isa’t isa kaya tulad ng sinabi nila, yung chemistry ng isang barkada nandun na rin. Hindi mahirap umarte sa harap ng camera kasi the bond we have made is really great,” he says in an interview with ABS-CBN.com.

In Your Song Presents Boystown, he plays the role of Bobet, an orphan who never stopped hoping that he would be reunited with his mom when it’s obvious that she has no plans of going back for him at the shelter. “When he was 9 years old, iniwanan siya ng nanay niya sa Boystown kasi siguro hindi na siya kasi kayang buhayin. Sabi sa kanya, ‘Babalikan kita sa birthday mo. Huwag ka aalis diyan sa Boystown ha.’Pero ilang taon na yung lumipas hindi pa rin siya binabalikan. Si Bobet naman umaasa pa rin na babalikan siya ng nanay niya every year to the point na every birthday niya mag-eempake siya ng gamit at maghihintay sa gate ng Boystown. Yun yung sad part dun. Pero at the same time, very blessed din siya to have friends in Boystown na nagpapasaya sa kanya despite everything,” he shares.

Unlike his role in I Love Betty La Fea, Sam finds himself without a love team this time around. But since Boystown is a coming of age story and he happens to be old enough to court a girl he likes, ABS-CBN.com asked him if there is someone in showbiz whom he considers girlfriend material other than his longtime crush Nikki Gil. “Sa totoo lang kasi bago lang po ako sa Star Magic, one year pa lang ako. Hindi ako nakapag-About Ur Luv so hindi ko masyadong kilala pa yung mga girls. Yung panliligaw hindi naman plinaplano yun eh. But yun nga, parang tinitignan ko muna yung priorities ko which is my school and this ‘di ba? For now, training lang muna ng training sa singing, dancing, and acting,” he beams.

Dubbed as one of the youngest heartthrobs in the biz, Sam was quick to thank all his fans for being supportive of his career all these years. “It’s really hard to believe. Feeling ko minsan ganoon pa rin ako, yung normal na bata, yung nag-aaral lang. I am just thankful sa lahat nangyayari. Nakakatuwa nga kasi the Samsters pretty much know everything about me. Kasi alam mo lagi silang nandun for me. Every show, sa set, pumupunta yang mga ‘yan nakikipagkwentuhan. If not for them naman, I wouldn’t have accomplished so many things in my career. That’s why I hope that I continue to better my craft para hindi masayang yung tiwalang binibigay nila sa akin.”

He's Bobet. Masasabi nyo na siguro kung masama siya or mabait and just so you know...the BOBET character was played by GABBY CONCEPCION sa original movie! In that movie, namatay ang older brother niya.. he blamed ARNEL (played by WILLIAM MARTINEZ), but they reconciled in the end.altho binago ang story, it's a good feeling to know...na kahit chuwariwap si sam, he relived the character of gabby.well, ang gusto ko lang sabihen... 3 Things SCC doesn't know about me:]

1: I've traveled a lot just to get to Sam's gigs and yet I don't know how to cross the street until now!

2: I don't have a copy of Sam's album (sorry Sam!) coz my mom won't let me buy one ;(

3: Everytime I enter a 7-11 store, the video that is playing in thier plasma TV is Sam's I'll Find Your Heart. I don't know why but it happened with all the 7-11 stores I entered.

Finish the Line:]

- My first crush was my seatmate back when I was in Kinder.
- My most embarassing moment was during a practice of our choir back in my first year. I was told to call other members of the choir pronto so I ran. When I reached the landing of the stairs, I slipped and all the other students stared at me in disbelief. I didn't stand up at once so it won't look too obvious. Someone helped me to rise and I found a huge cut across my right knee. Ouch ;[

- The first time I saw Sam was in a tv for Maggi commercial when I was in the 2nd grade. I was amazed on how he sang the "parang may isang anghel" and I immediately memorized it (I can still sing it to you now!) I was drawn to him from that moment on.

- I love to smile because that is the only thing I can share to anyone anytime.
- There was a time when my mom texted me that Samuel is at the Walter Mart Makati for the opening of Karate Kid branch there. During that time, I still don't have a photo with Sam though I've seen him in his gigs. I was so jealous because my mom will get to see Samuel. When my mom got home, she showed me a picture of her and Sam. I was like "mom!!!! what's this?!" I felt miserable because I'm the fan and yet mom had her pic with Samuel first before I do. She teased me about it for the rest of the day.

- My first impression about Sam was that I thought he's the serious type of person who will not crack up even in the funniest joke. I proved myself wrong! He's persistent (in a good way) and jolly and he knows how to praise our Almighty Father. - Memorable words Sam told me...

Sam: Hey Rham! Happy Birthday! How old are you?
Rham: (I didn't understand what he said coz he kind of mumbled it and I was like "huh?!")
Sam: Ilang taon ka na?
Rham: Oh, 15 ;D
Sam: Wow. That's great. So, I wish you all the best. May God bless you.
-- those words are oh - so memorable because he approached me to greet me for my birthday ;)

SCC is my third family and the first reason of my gala. It is not just Samuel I'm looking forward to see but also my fellow Samsters whom I can spend some good time with.

Now, here's the article about Rham and her 15th Birthday.

Last September 13, I celebrated my first ever birthday at SCC. Truth to be told, September 16 was the actual date of my birthday but I decided the celebration on that day because Sam has a show at SM Sucat and I was planning on going there.

Originally, all the members of D’anothers were to go to Sucat but unfortunately, some of us has more important things to attend to so our Get Together was cancelled that day.

Bea and I planned to go to Sucat late because both of us are busy in some school stuff. At 2:00 PM, I arrived at her house but she isn’t there yet thus, I waited for her for 30 minutes. While waiting, I texted Kuya Noriel to ask if it will be okay for him to wait for us so we can all go together. Half an hour later, Bea arrived at her house and 5 minutes after, we headed for 7-11 Rotonda to convene with Kuya Noriel. We met up with him then set off to the MRT Station at Shaw. We alighted at the North Avenue station and converged with Aileen there. The four of us departed to Sucat right away.

We arrived at SM Sucat 20 minutes past four. Obviously, we were late for the show. While walking to the venue, we all wondered who’s going to be there. We all bet that it will still be the same folks who are always going to Sam’s gigs. As anticipated, we were right. We immediately saw our fellow Samsters, Ate Sarah, Ate Yen, Janelle and three other persons I don’t know. Those whom I didn’t know introduced theirselves to Bea and I. Minutes later, the show ended and us Samsters went straight to Karate Kid(which is right beside the show’s venue) to eat ‘coz we are all starving. Sam also went to KK whereas Kuya Noriel and Ate Sarah were invited to be at Sam’s table. Before munching, Aileen bought me a cake so that it will really look like it’s my birthday. J While we are all eating, I sensed that Kuya Noriel is planning something (which was actually true.haha!) because they kept on looking at me while I gobble on my food. They even asked me to wave to some of the Elites they were talking to. “I smell something fishy...” I thought.

As I was still devoured on my provisions, I noticed Sam walked over the counter to have some picture taken with the staff, at first, I thought he was about to go but I was surprised to see him walking over our table! As I swallowed a mouthful of steak into my mouth, (that’s because of shock, truly.haha) he tapped me on my shoulders and as I looked around, I found SAM looking at me and he said, “Hi Rham! Happy Birthday! How old are you?” At first, I didn’t understand the “how old are you” part ‘coz he sort of mumbled it. Haha. Then I said, “Thanks! Ahm, huh?” “Ilan taon ka na?” he answered back. “Oh, 15. I’m 15.” I replied while smiling wildly. “That’s cool… Blah blah blah” I forgot the other things that he said, haha. After some talking, Picture-taking time! I suddenly found myself looking into more than a dozen cameras at our way. Every one was taking our photo. Haha! I’m in the spotlight today! A bit later, I gave the other Samsters a chance to also have their picture taken with Sam. Every Samster who approaches him, Sam always says, “Happy Birthday!” haha.. And after some time, it was Sam’s time to go, the crowd parted as he passed by. Then there he is, going, going and gone. Whew, I can’t believe it. Then I saw Tita Gene walking over us and asking, “Asan yung may birthday?” then I approached her. She greeted me, shook my hand then walked away. Haha. I feel so fortunate! ‘Coz in all of the SCC members, Tita Gene knows only a few of us. And now I’m lucky enough to be one of them. J

While we were walking, I still can’t believe what had just happened. Sam approaching, Sam talking to me, Sam putting his arms over my shoulders, Tita Gene’s greetings. Everything just seems like a dream. A dream that came into reality.

As we walk away from SM Sucat, disregarding all the noise that I have been hearing, I was trying to focus, to concentrate, to fix everything in my mind forever.

As World Vision’s Ambassador for Children, teen idol Sam Concepcion spreads the love to his fellow youth by committing to help make every child live a full life...

A charming face, an adorable smile, and talent to boot! It wouldn’t take a long, hard look at Sam Concepcion to understand why a lot of teenage girls go gaga over him.

But there is more to this teener than the heartthrob qualities. At a young age, Sam already knew what he wants in life – and he knew he had a mission, too.

So while juggling singing, acting and studying, Sam puts his influence on the youth to good use by accepting the role ‘Ambassador for Children’ entrusted to him by World Vision Philippines, a child-focused non-government organization that sends over 121,000 poor children to school through its child sponsorship program.

"I have a social responsibility, to always be a good role model to children. It’s always in my head and that keeps me grounded. That’s how I live my life," says the 16-year-old Sam.

But even before he was given the role, Sam has already been sponsoring a child with World Vision for three years now. For only R600 a month, one can ensure a child’s future with education, health care, and livelihood training for their family.

"We have a lot of blessings to share and there are a lot of kids my age out there who can help. If you look at it, it’s just R20 a day. You can already bring a child to school that way. So it’s really possible for us to do," he explains.

He recently traveled to Cebu and spent the whole day with the students of Pansoy Elementary School, a World Vision beneficiary. He also made the rounds of provinces spreading the word about World Vision. "There were high school and college students who would come up to me and inquire. It’s great to see them wanting to help," he relates.

Young people today may be preoccupied by many fleeting things but Sam believes that there are still many out there who has the heart to help out. "The youth can make a difference in a child’s life. Kahit na as young as we are, we can already make a difference," he says.

TOTAL PERFORMER

Sam grew up seeing his dad Raymund, and mom Gene, performing for theater and for their church. No wonder then that performing seems a natural thing for this teener, the third of four children that include older brothers Red and Kevin, and younger sister Gabby. Sam was just five years old when he first got into theater playing the young Jose Rizal in "Sino Ka Ba, Jose Rizal." Soon after, he was cast in various plays, the most memorable production of which is the stage adaptation of "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" where he played the role of Edmund. In his most recent theater gig, he played Troy Bolton in Disney’s "High School Musical."

"When I got into theater, that’s the only time I realized that this is what I wanted to do. I was enjoying myself. Back then, I had no idea that I would land on TV, but it came. Everything just fell into place," he relates.

He also clinched the plum prize in ABS-CBN’s Little Big Superstar tilt, beating now international young performer Charice Pempengco. Since then, Sam has released albums and appeared in various TV shows including "Super Inggo," "Walang Kapalit" and now in" I Love Betty La Fea".

FOR GOD’S GLORY

Despite his busy schedule, Sam never neglected his studies. He is now being home-schooled and is in the second year high school level.

"Some people think that home schooling encourages procrastination because you can do it any time of the day. It’s actually a bit harder because you learn things by yourself. You do things on your own. It teaches you responsibility," Sam shares.

He may have achieved a whole lot at such a young age, but Sam has managed to remain humble and God-fearing. He says that his parents constantly remind him to always do things for God’s glory, may it be in school or in his showbiz career, and never forget to share his blessings.

"It’s not by my own might that I achieved those things. The way things work are just orchestrated by God. And my parents are always there to keep me grounded," he says. (With interviews by Rachel Barawid, Angelo Garcia and Ronald Lim)

Waaaa... We're late and so I am. Wala na akong naabutan kundi ang fireworks. Ok! Kunyari fireworks nalang ang pinunta ko dun. Haha! 5pm nag-start yung program, and then kumanta si Sam 6pm. Dumating na kami, 7pm with my sister and mom. Haha! Pasaway kasi si Mommy sumama pa. T.T Late tuloy.Trapik pa sa Cavite that tym. Anyways, wahaha, picturan nalang to the max with SCC and others. And ayon, kumanta ulit si SAM ng 2 songs, para daw sa mga late, I'll Find Your Heart and Shout for Joy. And then, I saw SCC with face painting, shocks! Gusto ko nyan. Waaa kaya lang tapos na daw. T.T Kanda malas. Haha. Pero sige na nga, nag-enjoy naman sa kakakuha ng pics. Haha.

Sinabi ng former Little Big Star Grand Champion na si Sam Concepcion na sobrang proud siya sa naging runner-up sa kanya na si Charice Pempengco sa tagumpay na kanyang natatamo sa international music scene. “Lagi, we congratulate her,” simula ni Sam. “It is always something to congratulate her for, every time. She just comes with big news. You just hear about her from everywhere. It makes us so proud. First of course, na maging Pilipino. We Filipino artists have a chance to make it out there. We’re being distinguished internationally,” paliwanag niya.

Aniya, madalang lang silang magkita ni Charice dahil pareho silang busy nang matapos ang talent search. Ano ba ang naalala niya tungkol kay Charice nung pare-pareho pa silang nag-join sa nasabing singing contest? “When I think of her, I think, once nakasama ko rin ‘yan (Charice). I shared the same stage with her. I got to perform with her: same person, same voice,” pahayag ni Sam.

Idinagdag rin niya na noong mga panahong iyon ay bilib na siya sa boses ni Charice at inilarawan niya iyong kakaiba. Gayunpaman, hindi niya rin inasahan na gagawa ng ingay si Charice pagkalipas ng ilang taon dahil mga bata lamang sila noon. “We were kids. To us it never really became competition. We were kids, you just forget about some few things like competing. We just tried to enjoy it and never thought of it as a competition.”

Considering the fact na runner-up lang ni Sam si Charice noong panahon ng Little Big Star, hindi ba nai-insecure ang binata sa tagumpay natatamo ngayon ni Charice? “Honestly, I feel no jealousy or envy [towards Charice]. Some people don’t believe that when I say it,” natatawang sabi ni Sam. Paliwanag niya, wala raw kasing naidudulot na maganda ang pagkakaroon ng inggit. “Envy does not produce good growth.”

Sabi pa niya, kung anuman ang tagumpay ngayon ni Charice ay para sa kanya talaga iyon. “She was really made for it. My stay here, eto rin ang ginawa for me. We all have our own spot and stage in this industry. And this time, it’s her spot.”

Young heartthrob Sam Concepcion was among the first performers at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special at the Big Dome and his ever-increasing fame became evident as thousands of spectators cheered him on when he stepped onto the stage. When ABS-CBN.com later spoke to him about it, the young singer admitted that he was overwhelmed by such a warm reception from the people. “Being back sa Araneta to perform, it’s great. Makikita mo naman na they were very excited with the show. Siguro it just gives back my dream of having a big concert. I had one nung October in Music Museum, which was my first solo concert. Then I had another one last Saturday, a Christmas concert, it’s at the CCP open grounds. It’s great lang to see na you start from the small crowd, a small venue, then someday you know, hopefully, Araneta naman,” he happily recounted to ABS-CBN.com.

Apart from his singing engagements, this 16-year-old cutie is also busy playing the role of Andrew (Betty’s younger brother) in I Love Betty La Fea. It’s been several months since he first started on the project but his excitement towards working with the whole team behind the hit comedy series has never waned. “After Super Inggo, it’s great to be back doing soaps regularly in I Love Betty La Fea. It’s my first time to work with [most of the cast] like si Kuya Vhong (Navarro), Bea (Alonzo), Ms. Ai Ai (delas Alas), and Tito Ronaldo (Valdez). But every time I go to taping masaya palagi kasi kapag kasama mo silang lahat, laugh trip lang talaga,” he shared. He also confided that there’s no pressure on the set because everyone is simply on good terms. “You just feel comfortable because your co-actors make you really comfortable behind the cam and on the scene.”

As it happens, his chemistry with Cheska Ortega (Janice)—whom he is courting in the soap—is very much evident so ABS-CBN.com asked him if there’s something going on between them in real life. But Sam clarified that he knew the pretty mestiza way back when he first joined theatre acting. “She’s my love team in I Love Betty La Fea but we go way back. We both started in the theater. She’s being managed by Stages and Star Magic also. We did theater and all. We did High School Musical the year before that. She’d play Gabby and I was Troy, yun lang,” he explained with a laugh. He also stressed that the fact that they perfectly jive as partners is more because of their similar background. “We just got really close. Alam na namin yung bigayan when it comes to doing scenes or performing songs kasi we both trained in the theater. We started when we were eight or nine years old. So we know our way na,” he added.

In one of the scenes in I Love Betty La Fea, Cheska’s brother in the story (Roman) sabotaged Sam’s performance. Has he ever experienced cutting his song short when encountering a technical problem? “Kapag ganon, nawawala yung tape? Depends eh. Sometimes you just have to carry on especially kung audition. That’s very important kasi panget yun kung bigla kang tumigil, that’s minus [points for a performer] kaya siguro hindi nakuha si Andrew [dun sa episode]. Or even in big performances tapos nawala yung mic or whatever, [you should] carry on and do the performance,” he confidently replied. As it is, Sam no longer has stage fright and all he feels prior to a major concert is that wonderful feeling to be up on the stage again.

Nevertherless, Sam humbly acknowledged that he still has lots of things to learn in the business. “You know I am very new also on television. It’s only been three years since [I joined] Little Big Star. Things have happened that I never expected nor dreamt of. It just keeps getting better and better kasi I am really thankful for all of the blessings given to me. Of course madami pa akong wish. Madami pa akong wishes na gusto kong matupad. I never thought in my whole life that I will have solo concerts one after another. Only God knows what’s next for me,” he optimistically said.

Ok! Before mag-end ang October, nakapanuod na din ako sa wakas ng taping ng Betty La Fea. I’m sure madaming magtatanung sakin since pinost ko to. Matapang ;)) Ahaha. Ayun, nainvite lang na pumunta, parang tambay kami dun. Hahaha. I captured some pictures, kaya lang malalayo, di kasi kami makalapit, we wasn’t able to see PENGSON’s house inside kaya kinuhanan ko na lang yung labas. XD

I discovered many things again about SAM. Hahaha! Share ko na lang sa text sa mga SCC. Hahaha! The best thing here is yung napanuod namin si SAM umarte. Galing-galing, thumbs up! Ambilis walang cut. Andami din taong nanunuod, imperness, ahaha! Syempre yung mga taga-dun. Yung place? Secret daw eh, bawal pagkalat. Pero I think alam naman nung iba. Sunod yung school I.D ni SAM, naaliw talaga kami jan. Ahaha. May solo pic nga kami na suot yun. Hahaha! At syempre papalampasin ba namin ang school uniform ni Sam, oh diba meron din kaming pic. OO na, VAIN! ADIK! Sige na. Sunod ang paa, sino naman ba kasing adik ang gustong kumuha ng picture ng paa ni Sam, imperness kasi, laging nakapambahay ang scene ni Sam, oh kita ang kanyang paa. Kuha yun ni YHEN!!! May secret kami dito. Second time ko nakita si Sam nakatsinelas. Ay! Yieee... Ang paa!!!! ;) “YUMMY”-said yhen. Joke! Awww.. Hmmm.. Ano pa ba? Ayon, angwaaaaaaaaaaaaaPoooo ni papa LLOYDI, kaso ala kaming PIC. ;( Ate jas, haha! Nakascore kay LLOYDIE, yhen “But Im so sorry!” Ayun, ok na siguro yung kwento na to, wala sa mood eh, ENJOY naman. ENJOY tumambay, dumating kami 2pm tapos tulog si SAM sa tent pagod. Ehehe!!! Tapos nagstart si SAM, mga 4pm na hanggang kinabukasan na yon, kaya lang umuwi na kami ng 10pm. Ahay! I wasn’t able to see Cheska’s segment with SAM. At syempre nagkwekwento pa pala ako, akala ko tapos na. Haha! At ayun, nagday-dreaming kami habang nakatambay na sana kunin kami kahit isang scene man lang, yung tambay girls na may gusto kay SAM. Not my idea. Ahaha. Ayon sige na! Paalam.

Chichi's Diary

October 17, 1992. A little kid was born and baptized with the
name Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion. As a little boy, he showeto be the Tween Heartthrob we know as of today. And now, he is a 16 year old fellow who is very blessed with talents and everything a teenager could ask for.

Enough with that drama! :)) I was so fortunate to have a ticket to his birthday concert! Not only that, I was VERY fortunate to capture his attention.

As Sam said, "parang kailan lang I was playing with action figures and my hot wheels." Well said, he is also amazed and shocked by his achievements. More of, he can`t believe that his toys are now microphones, spotlights and cameras. Now, his playground is the stage.

October 18 2008. A very special day for me and ofcourse for Sam. Early in the morning I woke up, Opened my wallet, took out the ticket and stared at it for a few seconds. Ran downstairs and ate my breakfast. That very day, I had a conflict with my schedule which made me very hopeless and confused. After hours of confusion, I decided to ask my parents if I could go to both events. They said NO. So I texted my friends to inform that I couldn`t watch the Skecher`s competition.

Moving on, My family is about to drop me off to Music Museum, we went to the hospital. Unplanned, my sister had 3 blood tests which almost took us an hour and a half. Feeling terrible about it, I had to text the SCCs that I`ll be late for our 6 o`clock dinner.

After the long wait, I found myself seated at the back car seat again. My stomach felt jumpy as my dad gave me money. I went down our car and found a starex van behind us. Not knowing that Sam is inside the said vehicle. I looked for SCCs and found Janelle and Pausam. They told me that Sam is inside the starex and he`ll go home to freshen up.

A few walks, we met the other SCC members. We ate at Mcdonalds. I got myself a Quarter Pounder meal and wasn`t able to finish it because of excitement. We went back to the venue after having a wonderful dinner. While walking, I saw the starex again. With that, I saw tito ray unloading Sam`s clothes for the show. From a far, I peeked inside and I saw Sam. It made me scream "Uyyy si Sam!" which made the other SCCs peek from a far too. Though the glass is tinted. I think he saw us though. It made him hide a bit. He was wearing a hoodie, according to Ate Madz. :))

After seeing him, we went back to Music Museum. Played games with some of the SCCs such as "What would you bring","the name of the game is the first sound" and Ate Bea`s creepy trick which we weren`t able to continue.

Inside, I was seated alone. But then, Janelle and I transferred to the front seats beside Ate Claye and Ate Pausam. We were so afraid that we might get caught so we kept on looking back. =))The show started and we enjoyed the front acts. After the front acts, there was a presentation of Sam as a baby, to a kid, then to what he is now. It made him laugh because the snaps looked very silly. Then he started singing and being so makulit. He was so hyper! :)

He started to discuss about ideal guys, crushes and what-so-ever. He started to walk and to interview people. I was the first one! :))Sam: How old are you?Me: Uhh.. Fourteen.Sam: What do you like in a guy?Me:Mabait and Marunong sumayaw.Sam: Mabait ba ako eh inaway ko nga si Inaki kanina.What?! Hahaha. As If I was talking about him! Kidding. Yeah, Inaki and Sam had a mocking scene. :] T`was very funny though I wasn`t able to capture it on video.

There`s this part where in Keven and Red entered the scene. Sam said thet they`re his "alalays" when he was still little. They are asking Sam to give the, an iPhone and a Macbook each! Hahaha. Sam laughed and said "Ako nga wala nun eh" T`was something like that. They`re called the Concepcion Brothers daw. They sang "When you look me in the eyes" and Sam did a great job at the intro then said "Joke lang". Hahaha.Then it was Cheska`s floor. She got Kuya Kevinand Kuya Noryhel off their seats and invited them to dance with her on stage. Kuya Noryhel kept on taking pictures on stage! Super laughtrip! And it made Cheska to say in a pa"joke" way. "Ano ba yan picture ng picture!"

Then HSM people`s turn. Then the cake came in after they sang. Where Sam`s face literally swam in! Hahahaha.

After a few, he sang a Justin Timberlake song. He made me stand up. Then when I was about to, I fell. Hahaha. Sam made quite a chuckle that it made me blush. : Then when he was singing So sick, he was looking at me while singing the first verse! :) Kilig much? Then he did some singing. :)Oh. I had my picture with Mikee Lee. :)Oh. I had my picture with Mikee Lee. :)

I was home at 11:45pm. Stayed inside my room until 3am. We went to Edsa at 3 to drop my dad off. I was home by around 4:30. Then at 5am, I went to Ate Jenny`s place to continue my bonding with the SCCs. My, there were a lot of them there! But most of them are asleep already. Until a few minutes, all of them, are asleep! Proves me to be a real SCC vampire. :) At around 6-7am, they started waking up. We had breakfast. Pansit cooked by Ate Jenny. :) Yummy! Then after that I bonded with Shar, Ate Jenny, Janelle, Marz and Aliah. We laughed hard as if there`s no tomorrow and joked about ramdom stuff. We were also persuading Lolo Dave to tell us where Betty La Fea shoot! After a while it was time to leave. It seems like leaving isn`t a part of our plan. But we have to.

The day ended well. As though it was just a dream. Seriously! When I got home, I felt like I`m in a dream. If it was, I would not like to wake up! Hahaha. Meeting a lot of SCCs isn`t what I was expecting. And Sam moment, even more, wasn`t expected. Truly, SCC is not just having privelages that the other Samsters don`t have. SCC is truly a family. I found comfort and home when I`m with SCCs (Naks.) I will never regret my membership with this FAMILY. :) And ofcourse, supporting Sam shouldn`t be regreted as well. :)

Teen heartthrob Sam Concepcion recently celebrated his 16th birthday with his growing fan base called the “Samsters,” and other friends and supporters through a concert entitled “I'll Find Your Heart” at the Music Museum.

Sam's first major solo concert was indeed very successful as people flocked the concert venue just to celebrate with him. It was Sam's way of saying “thank you” to all those who supported him ever since he started in show business.

The show opened with Sam's baby and recent pictures flashed on screen while his parents were recalling these moments as a way of introducing the birthday celebrator. And when the last photo was shown, a temporary darkness ensued, Sam came out singing his opening number and the crowd went wild.

Most of the repertoire that Sam sang during his birthday concert was a showcase of what he has already achieved as an artist. Sam brainstormed and worked with the production team in choosing the songs he'll be performing. The lineup of songs included selected numbers from Footloose and High School Musical where he was much applauded.

But his most amazing and show stopping number was when he did his finale of a Michael Jackson medley where he also danced like the king of pop.

There were also sweet moments with Sam when he serenaded some of the female audience members and sang some ballads while giving them roses and chocolates. Some lucky ladies even got to kiss Sam. The crowd also cheered for one of Sam's special guests, Cheska Ortega. And when they performed “Breaking Free” together, the night became even more romantic.

The girls in the audience held their breath when Sam was about to reveal his crush. Some of them were even screaming their own names while some were shouting “Cheska,” but when Sam mentioned the name “Ella” and the audience heard the opening tunes of “Umbrella,” they just laughed and danced with him. Another funny moment was the friendly bantering of Sam and Iñaki Ting before the latter sang his first single “Ganun Ba?”

At the end of the show, people asked for an encore and Sam did not fail his audience. He performed “Kung Fu Fighting” and his carrier single “Even If” where everybody joined him in singing and grooving. Sam Concepcion turns 16

Teen heartthrob Sam Concepcion recently celebrated his 16th birthday with his growing fan base called the "Samsters" and other friends and supporters through a concert entitled "I'll Find Your Heart" at the Music Museum.

Sam's first major solo concert was indeed very successful as people flocked the concert venue just to celebrate with him. It was Sam's way of saying "thank you" to all those who supported him ever since he started in show business.

The show opened with Sam's baby and recent pictures flashed on screen while his parents were recalling these moments as a way of introducing the birthday celebrator. And when the last photo was shown, a temporary darkness ensued, Sam came out singing his opening number and the crowd went wild.

Most of the repertoire that Sam sang during his birthday concert was a showcase of what he has already achieved as an artist. Sam brainstormed and worked with the production team in choosing the songs he'll be performing. The lineup of songs included selected numbers from Footloose and High School Musical where he was much applauded. But his most amazing and show stopping number was when he did his finale of a Michael Jackson medley where he also danced like the king of pop.

There were also sweet moments with Sam when he serenaded some of the female audience members and sang some ballads while giving them roses and chocolates. Some lucky ladies even got to kiss Sam. The crowd also cheered for one of Sam's special guests, Cheska Ortega. And when they performed "Breaking Free" together, the night became even more romantic.

The girls in the audience held their breath when Sam was about to reveal his crush. Some of them were even screaming their own names while some were shouting "Cheska," but when Sam mentioned the name "Ella" and the audience heard the opening tunes of "Umbrella," they just laughed and danced with him. Another funny moment was the friendly bantering of Sam and Iñaki Ting before the latter sang his first single "Ganun Ba?"

At the end of the show, people asked for an encore and Sam did not fail his audience. He performed "Kung Fu Fighting" and his carrier single "Even If" where everybody joined him in singing and grooving. Puno ang venue ng mga bagets na karamihan ay teenage girls, na panay ang tilian at kilig-kiligan kay Sam.

Pati guests ni Sam ay halos puro bagets din. Cute 'yung bokalista ng teen band na Fire Exit na si Adam, kaya klik na klik ito sa girls.

Bago umentra ang Little Big Star champion ay ipinakita sa screen ang growing up photos niya habang may voice-over narration ang kanyang mommy at daddy.

8-anyos lang si Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion nang magsimula siyang magteatro sa Trumpets production ng The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Ang bilis ng panahon dahil 16-anyos na siya nu'ng Oktubre 17.

Grabe ang hiyawan ng audience paglabas ni Sam na bumanat ng Wake Me Up Before You Go, Go at Footloose.

Tama si Gary V. sa pagpuri niya kay Sam dahil para itong teen version niya na very energetic at hyper mag-perform.

Sam is dedicating this special occasion to all his fans. "This is really for them, especially the Samsters," he says. "It's like my way of saying thank you for all the support that they've given me ever since I started in show biz. They've always been there for me."

"I never really dreamed of becoming a singer or an actor," Sam declares. "Even when I was just a kid, I'd just sing or dance. I didn't expect any of these to happen but they just did. So I consider them as blessings." That's why on his 16th birthday, he is sharing these gifts with other people. "That's how blessings come," Sam continues, "by giving it back to the One who gave it to you and by sharing these talents with others."

The concert will actually feature the many facets of Sam's character and showcase what he has already achieved as an artist through the years. Sam will be singing a variety of songs that will include some singles from his album, theme songs of the TV series that he has done, contemporary, pop and novelty songs.

Expect Sam to sing his remake of Even If, for instance. Even If is extra-special for Sam since this is his first carrier single and it became an instant hit with the help of his supporters. However, Sam finds it difficult to single out a song as his favorite for he listens to a wide range of genre and artists. "Sometimes you find a musical element that's beautiful in this song, and sometimes in another," Sam explains, "so I can't really pick one and say that this is my favorite." This is also reflected in the different artists that he emulates, which include Gary Valenciano, Christian Bautista, Billy Crawford, Justin Timberlake, and Michael Jackson to name a few.

Sam will also perform selected numbers from stage musicals "Footloose" and "High School Musical" where he will be singing with Cheska Ortega, his love interest in the soap "I Love Betty La Fea."

Although every time Sam is asked about Cheska, he always answers, "we're really good friends." But he is quick to respond that he easily gets attracted to a girl's eyes, and he admires Cheska for that, not to mention her sweet voice and beautiful smile.

Right now, Star Magic and STAGES talent Sam is concentrating on his studies and career and love is taking the backseat. He reveals that he is not yet ready to find someone else's heart. Oh well, got to post this one. Wow! It was really amazing! The First Grand Conference of SCNETMEDIA was a success! The Site Team, Elite Samsters, Moderators, Administrators as well as the 95 Samsters, really had a great time with Sam! 2 hours before the chat, mejo full na ang chat room. Unforgettable? Lol! was absent that time! haha. He sang Even If with matching beat box of Tito Rey! Wow! And si Mushu, ang gulo! He got disconnected twice, but it's okay ;D Others were so pasaway! Multimedia teen star, Sam Concepcion is the Department of Education's new role model for the youth for keeping himself in school even as he maintains his celebrity status.

Education Secretary Jesli A. Lapus asked Sam to inspire young Filipinos to see how education can improve oneself. "We need somebody like Sam to remind the youth that education can be enjoyable and can bring us close to our dreams," he said.

According to the education chief, Sam was chosen for maintaining a wholesome public image while appreciating the value of education.

As a spokesperson, Sam will spearhead education campaigns and advocate co-curricular concerns through the SAMa SAMa sa Eskwela project and other activities.

"This is a big responsibility but I will do my share and give it my best shot," Sam said who is also the youth spokesperson.

Sam is a multi-talented youth who received critical acclaim for topbilling "High School Musical," and is a part of "Y Speak." He has starred in "Little Big Star" where he was named "Brightest Star." He was also an Aliw Award's nominee for "Best Child Performer," "Best New Male Artist," K-zone Award's nominee for "Best Male Singer of the Year," and Yes Award's nominee for the "Next Male Superstar."

Sam Concepcion (born October 17, 1992) is a young Filipino singer, dancer, actor, host and model. He emerged as "The Brightest Star" for the Big Division in Little Big Star's Season 1. He is now co-managed by STAGES and ABS-CBN's Star Magic.

Personal life

Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion, more widely known as Sam Concepcion, was born on October 17, 1992. His parents are Raymund Concepcion and Gene Concepcion. Sam also has three siblings - Kuya Red (23), Diko Kevin (22) and as Sangko Sam to their baby sister, Gabby (11). At the age of 2, he was already able to carry a tune and dance to simple songs. By the time he was 5 years old, he was already in theater. Inevitably, Sam pursued singing and dancing.

Rise to Stardom

Sam's major TV exposure came via Little Big Star on ABS-CBN. Sam easily got the attention of the judges and viewers. He was initially dubbed as the Singing Crush ng Bayan and had been constantly a crowd's favorite. In fact, he was voted as "My Favorite Star" for having the most number of text votes, which comprised 52% of all the total votes. During the Grand Finals, Sam sang "I Can't Stand Still" from Footloose, one of the highly successful musicals produced by STAGES. He eventually won the whole competition with the title, "The Brightest Star" for the Big Division over equally talented kids, Gian Barbarona was a second placer while Charice Pempengco was a third placer. Since then, Sam has steadily risen towards stardom.

Career

Sam was just five years old when he first performed in theater through a worship cantata. This soon earned him the role of the young Jose Rizal in a play, "Sino Ka Ba, Jose Rizal." While playing the part of the said character, he was discovered by David Cosico who has become his manager. David encouraged Sam to join Trumpets Playshop, a workshop where he continuously honed his skills in singing, dancing, acting, modeling, and hosting. At the age of nine, Sam was already an accomplished performer and theater actor with various plays under his name. One of which is when he played Edmund in the stage adaptation of "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe." His musical influences include Gary Valenciano, Michael Jackson, Usher, and Christian Bautista.

Before Little Big Star, Sam had already appeared on TV, including his widely known commercial with his real-life dad as the rapping kid in Maggi Sinigang sa Miso. He also appeared in children's shows such as Sineskwela and Hirayamanawari. While making TV appearances, he was still active in theater, performing in productions including Peter Pan and the Time Machine, Ragnarok, and Mr. Noah’s Big Boat. Aside from acting, Sam also had a regular hosting stint in ABC-5’s A.S.T.I.G. (All Set To Imitate God), a show that told stories about God and worship. In addition, Sam guested in Christian Bautista's concerts, namely Heartfelt and Color Everywhere.

Sam Concepcion's biggest break happened when he joined Little Big Star, a singing competition in ABS-CBN, which searched for young talents. He eventually won the search, earning the title as "The Brightest Star." Through this competition, Sam Concepcion's fanbase, collectively called the "Samsters," was formed and has been continuously growing.

But prior to winning Little Big Star, Sam was offered endorsements and projects. He is an endorser of Bench, a famous clothing line in the Philippines. He had also appeared in several magazine covers and features namely K-Zone, Total Girl, YES!, Hi, Inside Showbiz, Star Studio and other leading magazines in the country. In the September 2006 issue of Candy magazine, Sam was announced as Candy Cuties’ Number One Cutie and won the title again the following year.

Since then, Sam has achieved a whole lot more. He dubbed the voice of the main character Koyuki in Beck, an anime musical. He also starred in the ABS-CBN primetime shows, Super Inggo as Boi Bawang, one of the main characters and Walang Kapalit as the young Piolo Pascual.

Sam is still a regular host of YSpeak and a semi-regular on ASAP '08. He is also doing various tours for different purposes. One is an album tour, wherein he goes to different malls to promote his album. The other is a school tour in relation to his appointment by the Philippine's Department of Education as the newest Youth Role Model and Spokesperson. Being such, Sam encourages students across the country to prioritize their education. Sam was also appointed as the official spokesperson for the Philippines in the asian-wide campaign of Business Software Alliance's B4USurf campaign against online piracy and safe internet use. To add to that, Sam is still the Youth Ambassador for Education and the Arts in the 3rd District of Manila. In addition, Sam is now the newest addition to ABS-CBN's Star Magic talents, with a co-management contract with STAGES. He was launched as a Star Magic talent last February 10, 2008 on ASAP '08.

Just recently, Sam was chosen by Dreamworks to sing the theme song entitled, "Kung Fu Fighting," for the animated movie, Kung Fu Panda, for its Philippine run. His version of "Kung Fu Fighting" is included in the Asian soundtrack album, which also includes the cover of Korean superstar, Rain. With this project, Sam is the first Filipino artist to have collaborated with Dreamworks.
